(1947) Saudi Arabia Gold Pound - Struck at the U.S. Mint for ARAMCO - Uncirculated

In 1947 Aramco needed gold pieces to pay Saudi royalty for oil. The discs were officially never designated coins by the U.S. Mint which struck them. They have the same gold content as a British Sovereign and are sometimes referred to as the American Sovereign. These have steadily increased in value over the years.
